I recently received a gift card for a local book store in my area, and was extremely excited to spend it. I soon came across a dilemma - I had 6 books I wanted, and only a $20 gift card. Around the time the cashier told us the store would be closing in 10 minutes, I was starting to become frantic. My mom came by and said, so simply "Why don't you get all of them? They are on clearance" I realize I could afford all of them, so I got them all ;)
They were "The Dark Days Club", "Mister Death's Blue-Eyed Girls", "Snow Like Ashes", "Don't Touch", "Born Wicked", "The Faerie Ring", and "Cinder"
What books have you recently bought?
Bye :)

THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
I'm probably going to say this for (mostly) every single book review I do, BUT HOLY CREPE WOW!!!! I honestly didn't expect myself to love this book as much as I did. Before "Carry On", I haven't read any books that have LGBTQ aspects. I found I actually enjoyed this aspect of the story and totally ship #snowbaz (I don't know if that is the official ship name; if it isn't, please let me know :) I will be looking into more books with this aspect.
I really enjoyed the way Rainbow Rowell made these characters - they were awkward, flawed, and so real. I seriously loved Penny (Penelope) throughout the whole book, as she was such an interesting character to get to know.
I also really enjoyed the way the whole mystery/unknown elements worked themselves out through the book and how Simon, Baz, and Penny worked them out, not The Mage. Like how together Baz and Penny figured out that Simon was causing the humdrum and the dead spots. That was so great to read about.
Overall, this is definitely a top-favourite worthy book in my opinion. Basically 😍 all the way
What are your thoughts on "Carry On"?

I've decided to summarize my review of these books because 1) I haven't read them in a while and 2) all the events are sort of blurred as to which book they were in in my head.
"Throne of Glass" is a fantasy story about an assassin named Celaena Sardothien. She is brought to the King's Palace to compete in a competition to become the King's Champion/personal assassin. When competitors start dying, she must try to survive through troubling people, competitors, and an evil presence lurking somewhere in the castle.
First of all - WOW!! I seriously love Sarah J Maas' writing style and her ability to make such awesome, kick-butt characters. I can easily say my favourite character throughout this series is Celaena(/Aelin). I love her character development throughout all of the books and how much she starts to understand herself as a person. The way she starts off as an assassin in love with fashion (and herself, let's be honest) and progresses through the change of realizing who she is (Elentiya, Fire-Heart, Aelin Galathynius!!!) and becoming a down-to-earth person while harnessing her powers/abilities. I was sucked in from the first page and went through all of the books (Assassins Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows) within the span of around 1 month. I was completely hooked.
My favourite of the series is probably "Heir of Fire" because there are so many things going on throughout the story that affect all the characters and makes the story so intriguing and unputdownable.
I give this whole series a solid 5 stars.
I am also SO FREAKING EXCITED for the next book and will definitely jump into it immediately when it comes out.
Let me know in the comments your thoughts on this series and cast of characters (if you want)

Over the past 2 months, I have acquired quite a few books for a few occasions - they were birthday gifts or I bought them.
For gifts, I received "Fangirl" and "Carry On" from some really awesome friends that took the time to coordinate their gifts which made me SO FREAKING HAPPY!!! Then the last gift was "The Bronze Horseman" which was given to me by one of my besties (she is one of the few I trust with my books) who remembered back months ago when I said I'd been meaning to get it and was really excited to ready it.
For the ones I bought myself, I ordered online. I got the "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" trilogy hardcover set, "Struck", Goodbye Rebel Blue", "My Life Next Door", "Unbreakable", "The Glass Casket", and "As I Wake". The reason I got so many, as you might be wondering, is that they were all bargain books ;)
Thanks for reading all that, and let me know in the comments what books you have recently gotten or any recommendations you might have

1. My friends think I cannot hear them when they talk to me while I'm reading
2. I seriously cannot read lying down. Like, am I supposed to trust my book not to fall on my face?
3. My all time favourite genre of book is fantasy/high fantasy
4. I constantly buy hardcovers but seriously love the feel of a good, floppy paperback
5. I CANNOT eat or drink anything while reading. What would I do if I got crumbs in between pages or spilt my drink on it?!
6. I read mostly during the day, but at night too if I'm not completely exhausted

6. I read mostly during the day, but at night too if I'm not completely exhausted
7. I am able to read in moving vehicles.
8. I cannot settle on one way to organize my bookshelves (author last name, genre, series/standalone?)
8. I cannot settle on one way to organize my bookshelves (author last name, genre, series/standalone?)
9. As of the time this post is up on my blog, I am still only on the third book in the Harry Potter series (please don't kill me 8_8) *I will finish it before the cursed child comes out
10. I can count the amount of people I trust with my books on one hand
12. It drives me insane when publishers only sell new releases in hardcover because come on, the rest of the books in that series I own are ALL PAPERBACKS
13. On a good reading day, I can read up to 80-100 pages/hour
14. I usually buy all my books online but ultimately prefer the experience of shopping in a store for books
15. I would not want to write my own book, but would definitely edit other peoples books
16. I have never listened to an audio book (but totally want to)
17. If a book has a nice cover and intriguing title, I will generally be drawn to it over other books
18. I am paranoid about reading a hardcover with the dust jacket on because I feel like I would totally destroy them
19. I don't feel comfortable going anywhere without my phone and a book, even if I don't read the book, it's better to be safe than sorry
20. I always look in the bargain section while shopping for books first
21. Mass market paperbacks are extremely annoying to me (they don't bend and they are practically asking to be spine-broken
22. My bookshelves are constantly packed and I seem to always have a pile of books at the base of my shelves
23. I have no major preference over UK or American book covers
24. I keep all of my favourite childhood books because I can't seem to part with them
25. I really dislike buying only the first book in a series because what happens if I really love it and have to wait for the next book?! It's nerve wracking!
Thanks so much if you read all of that, it seems I can still ramble when I'm typing as well as talking
Bye :)
